Individual reflection
Quick reflection
Without any further reading, you can jump directly into a short reflection session by asking yourself:
- When did you experience a challenging situation as a scientist and started thinking about what it means to be a scientist?
- If you are a scientist: How would you describe your role as scientist? If collaborating with scientists: How would you describe the roles of scientists in your professional context?
- What roles of scientists in sustainability transformations can you think of? Which are you most/least familiar with?
- Focus on the roles you are least familiar with: What do you value about these roles?
- To what extent could collaboration with scientists performing different roles enrich your scientific work?
- To what extent could collaboration with scientists performing different roles enhance the societal relevance of your work?
- To what extent could performing different roles while collaborating with practitioners (in politics, civil society, administration, business, with citizens) enhance the societal relevance of your work?
- To what extent might roles conflict with one another?
