Designing Inspiring Workshops and Courses in Transdisciplinarity: A Guide

Discover a practical resource for advancing collaborative approaches in sustainability research and practice. The publication 'Designing Inspiring Workshops and Courses in Transdisciplinarity: A Guide' offers actionable insights for researchers, trainers, and educators working to foster transdisciplinary engagement.

The guide, created by the TD Training Collaboratory and hosted on the ITD Alliance website, provides a comprehensive framework for designing transdisciplinary training programs. It is tailored for researchers and others facilitating complex sustainability projects. By focusing on essential concepts and practices of transdisciplinarity, the guide equips users to design workshops and courses that address audience-specific needs and collaborative goals.

Rooted in years of expertise and lessons learned from real-world applications, the guide emphasizes co-creation, dialogue, and trust-building—cornerstones of effective transdisciplinary research. It is a valuable resource for anyone aiming to bridge disciplinary boundaries and engage in collaborative solutions for sustainability challenges.

*The TD Training Collaboratory is a group of transdisciplinary leaders and practitioners from 11 countries - among them Christian Pohl and Gabriela Wuelser from the Sustainability Research Initiative strategic committee and office, respectively. The group's project was funded by the US National Science Foundation. Drawing upon its collective experience, the group developed the guide, and pilot tested its use at various conferences and institutes.
